Virtual tour of the Prophet’s Mosque

January 9, 2006 by Laura | Trackback URI

A 360° view of Islam’s 2nd holiest site, The Prophet’s Mosque, in Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah, Saudia Arabia. It is the burial site of the Messenger of Allah.

This is the first virtual tour of the Prophet’s Mosque (Masjid Al Nabawi), the second most important place of worship for Muslims around the world, after the Grand Mosque (Al-Haram), in Makkah Al-Mukarramah. Millions of Muslims visit the Mosque each year, to worship, to visit the Prophet’s grave, and to see the city that gave birth to Islam.

It’s beautiful; really amazing. And it reminds me of nothing so much as all the beautiful, elaborate, golden and jewel encrusted Catholic edifices that were built while the faithful went hungry. Monuments to man’s glory. I hope a Luther rises up in the Muslim community soon; they certainly need it.
