Where in the world has Laura been, you might ask. (Or not…
) I have been swamped with work, however I will be back soon, I hope. I’d rather blog than work anytime. Jim from Irregular Times was kind enough to compliment and link to Here we go again…, which led to more conversation at his blog and back here. Although Jim is an atheist and a liberal (no, that’s not redundant) we managed to have some civilized discourse and we actually agree on some things. (Does that mean I have to turn in my Vast Right Wing Conspiracy creds?)
Peregrin Wood, also at Irregular Times asks, Is Mohammed the Raging Warlord and Jesus the Prince of Peace? and I think it’s a post well worth reading. I bet you were not aware of a terrorist group that self-identifies as Christian and is conducting rapes and beheadings right now. (And now that you are, what are you going to do about it? I’ll be researching this and posting on it soon – I’m not sure what action I can take beyond prayer, giving money, and publicly denouncing this group, and not sure to whom the money would go – but I do feel compelled to do something. We call on Muslims to do these things, and it seems we have some housekeeping of our own to do in this area as well.) Challenge your stereotypes and check it out.
Something else well worth reading on the other side of the political spectrum, from Protein Wisdom: Identity Politics, Free Speech, and the Future of worldwide Liberalism, 2: a follow-up.
