I’m *never* going to get any work done now.

Since Katrina I have been swamped with work and consequently I’m frequently the second-to-last person to find things out. The last person is the Man of the House, because he reads Day by Day and a few other comics, checks his email, and that’s about it. What he knows about blogs is whatever I told him. So maybe all y’all know about this already - The Conservative Brotherhood.

The Conservative Brotherhood is a group of African American writers whose politics are on the right hand side of the political spectrum. Expanding the dialog beyond traditional boundaries, we seek to contribute to a greater understanding of African Americans and America itself through advocacy and commentary. We encourage all to use this portal to discuss and debate the issues of the day.

Oh sure, I’ve been a regular reader of Baldilocks and LaShawn Barber for quite a while. And about a month ago I discovered Cobb and read a fair amount of his archives to catch up. But somehow I’ve never stumbled across most of the excellent blogs in The Conservative Brotherhood until Cobb’s post, “The Undefined Entity.” Cobb writes:

I continue to be impressed with the amount of material we are putting forth, and yet I am still unsatisfied that we are getting the coverage and readership we deserve. So this year will focus strongly on growth and blogospheric market penetration. We continue to be way ahead of the curve in identifying conservative black opinion on all major issues, but we could use a lot more citations in major and online press. We’re also getting into multimedia. New member Bob Parks is podcasting his radio broadcasts. We still have a ways to go, but I have a few marketing tricks as well as tried and true blogospheric tactics up my sleeve.Speaking of new members, I’ll be doing some more detailed introductions over the next few weeks. These are exciting times. Stay tuned.

All of these things serve one purpose, to put people in touch with the conservative dynamic in black American politics. We are strong and focused on bringing our opinion to the forefront. We have new and important things to say on the issues of the day and we cannot be ignored. Our presence is not only making itself known, but we are growing.

We appreciate and thank you for your support.

Cobb should be impressed. Some of the best blogging I’ve ever read was what I’ve found linked within The Conservative Brotherhood. So Booker Rising, Black Pundit, and Black Informant have now joined Cobb, Powerline, LGF, Captain’s Quarters, Ace of Spades HQ, and Michelle Malkin in my “must read” bookmark folder.*

My only complaint about all this is when will I find time to get any work done?

*If you don’t use Firefox, you should get it. If for no other reason, for the “Open in Tabs” feature that opens up tabs for each bookmark in a folder makes it worthwhile. I can open all my favorite blogs at once this way. In addition to that, there are a boatload of fabulous extensions you can add to it. Trust me on this, if you try it, you’ll love tabbed browsing with Firefox. If you try it and don’t understand why I’m enthused, let me know and I’ll make a list of the extensions I use.
