Open Trackbacks

As of this writing, my visitor count is 14,917 since I started tracking after Hurricane Katrina! (After we got home, after the power came back on, after we finally put down the chainsaws and we boxed up the last of the MREs for next hurricane season… call it late September.) Okay, it’s a small milestone but 15,000 is a nice round number and I figured I’d take note of it in this open trackback post. If you care about your Ecosystem ranking, trackbacks will be added to the body of the post as time allows.

Remember, if you don’t link back, the cat will be sad. You wouldn’t want that on your conscience, would you?

    I’m still learning. What’s a trackback?

When you link to one of my posts from your blog, notice of that link automatically appears on my blog. That’s a trackback, which connects the two blogs. For example, in my post, The More Things Change, I link to Expose The Left which has video of Wesley Clark. That added a link to my post from Expose The Left, so Ian’s readers know another blogger posted something about Wesley Clark that they might be interested in.

“Open trackbacks” are when a blog opens up a post for anybody to link to; there’s no particular subject. It’s a way for bloggers to let their readers know about other blogs of interest.

By the way, I told my pastor about your comment on his sermon, he was very encouraged and blessed. Hurricane Katrina destroyed our church building, so we’ve been sharing other church’s facilities since then, and it’s got to be incredibly stressful dealing with the insurance companies, government, and everything else involved with trying to rebuild. So it was great for him to receive that positive feedback! Thanks so much!
