It’s abundantly clear that we’ll be in a state of declared war with Iran before much longer. I would guess it’ll happen before mid-summer, certainly.
In spite of all the desperate MSM attempts to spin Ahmadinejad’s letter to Bush as an honest attempt at resolving things which been rejected out of hand by Bushitler, the war-mongering tool of Halliburton and Big Oil I don’t buy it. I do buy the analysis by Allah, at Hot Air, and by Robert Spencer, at Jihad Watch, and several other bloggers and online pundits. I believe more in the honesty, good motives, and desire to spread truthful information of these unseen strangers, than I do in the MSM’s willingness to even temporarily set aside their BDS for the sake of the nation. (But don’t question their patriotism! Oh, never that!) If nothing else, they have a better track record than the MSM. The only MSM outlet I am aware of to report the truth on this issue is the NY Sun, in the article Iran Declares War.

“[W]e would carry Islam as an intellectual call to all the world,” says Abu Mohammed, a pseudonym. “And we will make people bordering the Caliphate believe in Islam. Or if they refuse then we’ll ask them to be ruled by Islam.”
And after that? Abu Mohammed pauses and fiddles with his Pepsi before replying.
“And if after all discussions and negotiations they still refuse, then the last resort will be a jihad to spread the spirit of Islam and the rule of Islam,” he says, smiling. “This is done in the interests of all people to get them out of darkness and into light.”
And from Robert Spencer, “Ahmadinejad’s letter a call to accept Islam?” and “Iran’s Thug-In-Chief: my letter to Bush was invitation to Islam.”
When he says this, he is calling Bush to accept Islam — since in traditional Muslim belief it is only Islam that guarantees “monotheism, worship of God, justice, respect for the dignity of man, belief in the Last Day.”

“The letter was an invitation to monotheism and justice, which are common to all divine prophets. If the call is responded positively, there will be no more problems to be solved,” added the president.
The president said that the letter actually contained a clear message of invitation to human beliefs, adding that its response will determine the future….
Both bolded statements suggest that the letter was indeed the call to Islam that must precede any attack, in accord with Muhammad’s words (in Sahih Muslim 4294) about inviting the unbelievers to accept Islam or dhimmitude and fighting him only if he refuses both. We shall see.
If this letter was a step to declared war, then the next step will be to demand from us the jizya.
Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them…If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya [the tax on non-Muslims specified in Qur’an 9:29]. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah’s help and fight them. (Sahih Muslim 4294)
Declared war with Iran may be preventable by some currently unknown factor. It may be inevitable, given that they have been waging a low-key war on us for almost thirty years. It may be the fulfillment of biblical prophecy (more on that later, it’s a long post to write). I’m inclined to believe that, given all the other things that have happened in the last few years, but we can’t know for sure. I think it won’t be too much longer before we know the real life equivalent of the Time Traveler’s three last words in the Dan Simmons story.
“According to their own writings, which we all know well in my day,” continued the Time Traveler, “ ‘Hadith Malik 511:1588 The last statement that Muhammad made was: “O Lord, perish the Jews and Christians. They made churches of the graves of their prophets. There shall be no two faiths in Arabia.’ And there are not. I lowered the pistol.

The Time Traveler said three last words and was gone.
I put the pistol away – realizing too late that it had never been loaded – and sat down to write this. I could not. I waited these three months to try again.
Oh, Lord, I wish that some person on business from Porlock would wake me from this dream.
It was not the horrors of his revelations about my grandchildren that had shaken me the most deeply, shaken me to the core of my core, but rather the the Time Traveler’s last three words. Three words that any Replayer or time traveler visiting here from a century or more from now would react to first and most emotionally – three words I will not share here in this piece nor ever plan to share, at least until everyone on Earth knows them – three words that will keep me awake nights for months and years to come.
