Drop the banana and no one will get hurt!

I read the LGF post, “Dallas Islamic Leader: Expect Someone to Put a Banana in Your Exhaust Pipe” with interest.

Rod Dreher of the Dallas Morning News has been corresponding with Mohamed Elibiary, a determined apologist for radical Islam, and in their latest email exchange Elibiary issues a veiled threat to tamper with Dreher’s car: Responding to Mohamed.

I, my wife and now my kids are examples of those home grown Muslims you’re so fearful of turning violent on you, and my message to you is just treat people fairly and we as a country will make it fine though these rough waters. Treat people as inferiors and you can expect someone to put a banana in your exhaust pipe or something.

I think calling that a veiled threat is a ripe example of why the left calls the right hysterical. It’s much like the way they’ve dumbed down the definition of torture. I suppose it could actually be true, though, and because it’s always better to err on the side of safety, here’s a short video to assist anyone who feels like this could be a serious threat.

[Update: The Man of the House says that he also would take the banana comment as an actual threat, and not as hyperbole. Evidently I'm being too sanguine about it. Probably because I'm not terribly subtle; my idea of a death threat is to point my Glock 17 with a chambered hollow point at your head, or at least to say the threat outright the way jihadis so often do. However, any excuse to see a Monty Python skit is a good excuse, so enjoy!]
