A few interesting links I’ve noted during my lunch break surfing:

On the war:
Tim Blair – “BROAD STRATA OF COMMUNITY SUFFER HIGH DEATH RATE

Jihadis are becoming jihasbeens:

They rose up quickly to take up Osama bin Laden’s call for jihad, ruthless men in their 20s and 30s heralded as the next generation of global terror. Two years later, 40 percent are dead, targets of a worldwide crackdown that claimed its biggest victory with the killing of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, al-Qaida’s front man in Iraq.

Manhunts in Asia, Africa and Europe have pushed most of the rest deep underground — finding refuge in wartorn Somalia or the jungles of the southern Philippines. While there are still recruits ready to take up al-Qaida’s call to arms, analysts say the newcomers have fewer connections than the men they are replacing, less training and sparser resources.

On Karl Rove’s continued freedom:
Top Ten (Themed!) ‘Progressive’ Reactions To The End of Fitzmas
A categorized summary of lefty reaction to the news that Rove will NOT be indicted – at least for anything related to the Wilson/Plame nonsense. I’m sure they hope he’ll be prosecuted for something, sometime, somewhere.

On the Bush McCainedy Amnesty:
A Sopranos Style Hit On The Immigration Bill

The Washington Times has an article today entitled, “House Republicans hit Senate immigration bill.” Actually, I would have named the article, “House Republicans order hit on Senate immigration bill.” Here are some excerpts and comments;

The Senate’s immigration-reform bill grants broad amnesty to illegal aliens and is even worse than previously thought, say House Republicans who have read the 850-page Senate bill and must approve any final legislation that Congress sends President Bush.

When you start with an utter abomination how can it be “worse than previously thought?”
