Open Trackbacks – 杂碎 (Chop Suey) Edition

Fortune Cookies

Chop suey means “chopped up odds and ends, alluding to ‘leftovers’.” Because I have a web application I’m working on where issues with the database are eating my lunch, and because I have basically stopped cooking and am ordering out for most meals, and because I have some odds and ends I’ve been meaning to mention and this is as good a place as any… this open trackback post is the Chop Suey Edition. Like all leftovers, it will hang around a few days and keep getting taken from the fridge and nibbled on. (I’ll be bumping the post as needed to keep it on top and trackbacks will be added to the body of the post, as usual.)

Pursuing Holiness’ 20,000th visitor arrived from Estonia and quickly left on his/her pursuit of pornography. It’s no longer #1 on the infamous search – it’s down to #3 and #4. But I did get to send lots of people seeking porn here, so it’s been great, oddly enough, to be associated with that search. I don’t doubt it’s been giving the webmasters of the “real” site fits, to have a Christian site getting their search engine traffic. (Mwahahaha!!!)

I am absolutely hooked on this series. It’s on Sunday nights, and they are showing reruns regularly, so check your listings and try to catch up. It’s absolutely phenomenal, and something every American should see. I’m going to buy the set.

I went to all the trouble to get a Master’s certification for training and now I don’t teach or train anymore. But I can at least pass on an occasional tip: You know when you’re filling out an online form, and that drop-down list appears with things you’ve previously typed? As time goes on the list gets longer and a bunch of those things you’ll never need again. To get rid of them, while the list is dropped down, use the arrow key to select the item, and Shift + Delete. When I finally get caught up on my current project queue I’ll be working on some video tutorials that I’ll post here.

An open trackback post from last week was trackbacked by Case-Notes from the Artsy Asylum, which referenced blogs in space. I read that like the old Muppet Show skit, “Piiiigs Iiin Spaaace!” But Case-Notes also has great info on blogging, from etiquette to how to promote your blog, and links to nifty things like blog tipping, something I’ll be doing regularly from now on – once I’ve had time to see how others are doing it. So go have a look, you’ll be glad you did.

Link to Pursuing Holiness and track back your latest and greatest here! I’ll be adding trackbacks to the body of the post as time allows, and I’ll bump this post to the top once a day as well.
