Some Senator, with ninja-like stealth, is holding valuable legislation captive. The Porkbuster’s “secret hold” page has a few new additions to the “not me” list. But there’s still quite a few Senators who have either not been asked, or do not feel compelled to respond. They need a little constituent pressure to get them motivated. And a bit of lagniappe for you – if you include your blog info in the email notifying Porkbusters what your Senator said, they will evidently link back to you – they did for Washington blogger AndrewsDad.

Senator Sarbanes’ (MD) Washington office said they didn’t know if he had put a hold on s2590 (note lower case s), but took my number and said they would get back with an answer. An Email asking for the same info has not invoked a response. Both were made yesterday 8-28-06. Keep the pressure on!!!!
Levin’s office said it wasn’t him and Stabenow’s office will get back to me.
I called Lieberman’s and Dodd’s office. Lieberman’s office denied putting the hold (he’s a co sponsor), but the office would not say if they know who did. Dodd’s office refused to deny it saying only that he has not yet made a statement.
I wasn’t sure if y’all contacted Porkbusters so I emailed them, just in case. But there’s a link in the post to this page, http://porkbusters.org/secrethold.php where anybody can report what their Senator said.
