I just got an email from Cox Communications informing me that they’ve upgraded my internet connection, lagniappe. So my connection is up to 12mbps! I immediately thought – Oh Yeah!! (Ferris Bueller style)

The CNet bandwidth tester says –
I remember when we upgraded from a 1200 baud to a “blazing fast” 14,400. When I think of the connection speeds back then – my gosh, how did we ever get anything done? I worked for AOL back in the early 90s in Vienna, when it was a startup, and going to work with that ethernet connection just spoiled me. No snark, please… in ‘93, AOL was cool and I was really happy to be there. About five years ago I started to really pine for a T1, but it really wasn’t an option for several reasons. I am one happy camper right now. You just have no idea.
