After reading a few more of his articles, I concluded that he was sincere. He really does recognize the danger of Islamofacism or whatever we’re calling it this week. I saw an ad for Harris’ book, Letter to a Christian Nation that intrigued me and on his website I found this intriguing list of quotes (emphasis added): More than 50% of Americans have a “negative” or “highly negative” view of people who don’t believe in God. 70% think it important for presidential candidates to be “strongly religious.” [...] [...] At the time, I wondered if he was just trying to make a splash because he has a new book coming out. I can't think of a logical answer to that question either, but I've seen video and read transcripts of the answers when it is asked. So far it's always been some variation on "to seize power so Halliburton and the Rethuglican war machine can make gazillions of dollars in the war for oil" with "to destroy civil liberties" being the added bonus. Amanda - If you do decide to write about it I'll be very interested in reading it - I always enjoy your take on things. I'd like to have one of those in that 16% explain to me how those two towers could be 'secretly rigged to explode'. And another thing I'd like to have them explain is "Why?" Why would our President, who had only been in office since January 20th of that year, do that? All these conspiracy theories; it'a wonder there aren't more lefty heads exploding.
