Get Out The Vote on Gather

I was invited by Gather.com to be one of sixteen bloggers to write for a Get Out The Vote campaign for Election 2006. (Obviously, a mistake was made somewhere, but I said “yes” immediately before they found out. 
) I hadn’t heard of Gather before – although now I keep noticing their TV ads. I was assigned the California gubernatorial race and the Tennessee senatorial race. You can read – and comment on – and vote for – my articles here. This is also a contest – if I’m selected to be the conservative blogger who will blog on Gather’s home page for election night I’ll receive $500. The winners – a conservative and a liberal – will be selected based on comments received and the evaluation of the Editorial Team. Drop by and check it out!

You’ve really never heard of them? They have all sorts of commercials on TV.
I have a TV in my office, but it’s always on Fox, CNN or CSPAN. And I only kind of half-listen for the “breaking news” sounds because the rest of the day they just repeat, repeat, repeat. So I just never noticed if they advertised on those channels. Go figure…
