Obsession: Radical Islam’s War Against the West

Because Fox News will be airing this movie this weekend, I’m linking to this post from July which has authorized graphics if you want to promote the movie on your blog. The last time I posted on this I got an inordinately long comment from a Muslim who was surfing around posting an article she wrote about how shocking it is and how offended she was and how it’ll cause backlash or whiplash or some such nonsense. The comment went straight to my moderated queue, and I never bothered to take it out, figuring I’d post and fisk it sooner or later.

This is a movie we should be promoting. National politics aside, it directly addresses the fact that we have an enemy who is smart, capable, and will win, unless we finally wake up and fight back in a meaningful way. The current conventional wisdom is that we’ve lost Iraq and are losing Afghanistan. Maybe so. But if it is true, it’s not due to any lack of capability of our military, which is the best in the world. It’s due to the fact that we want to be liked more than we want to win. If we choose to finally treat this like a war, we can still win. If we were serious about winning, we would not flinch from killing the enemy. Remember Dresden? Hiroshima? We were determined to win, and we did. Did non-combatants die? Yes. That’s what happens in war. That’s what happened in New York in 2001. The last time we won a war, we were willing to do whatever it took, and whether we were admired wasn’t a big concern. We chose, instead, to be feared. The only reason Moqtada al Sadr is still breathing is because we permit it.

Liberals are wailing and gnashing their teeth about the fact that Fox is airing it. That terrible right-wing media, right? Because, as AllahPundit pointed out, CNN would never, never do that. (::cough:: Broken Government! ::cough::) And the NYT is, if anything, “too evenhanded.” So watch it and judge for yourself – here’s the YouTube, but it will be a lot better full-sized on your TV, on Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET, and will be repeated Sunday at 1 a.m. ET, 5 a.m. ET, 4 p.m. ET and 10 p.m. ET.

[Edited by Laura - I tracked you down because I am genuinely concerned about you, although I have not reported you to anyone where you posted this comment from. I know that they have some good doctors in your area. Please go see one, find out just what kind of mental illness you suffer from and get some medication for it. This is no small matter. You need help. I'm not being sarcastic. You need the peace that only the Lord can give you. You really do need help. Even more important than seeing a doctor, although I do strongly recommend that - you should go here, and talk to a pastor. You'll be in my prayers.]
