Latest Harry Potter Book Title

I read on Hot Air that a hangman puzzle was on www.jkrowling.com that would reveal the title, so I went to what has got to be the most aggravating mystery meat navigation site on the planet. I clicked the eraser to get to the hallway, and then clicked and tried everything possible until I finally got to the puzzle. And don’t bother with the plant or the bottles, they’re a waste of time. Finally, I was victorious!! I found the puzzle and solved it. I knew the name! Yay, me. Then, some genius in the Hot Air thread mentioned that he Googled it, and doubtless this is the article he found. ::sigh:: It has directions on how to get to the puzzle, plus the name of the book. If you don’t want to know, don’t click it. But if you do want to know, save yourself the trouble and just swipe the box to reveal the title:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

So now we get to chew on that for six months or so while they get the book finished and published. Well, it’s progress, I guess. I haven’t been this hooked on a book series since I was a kid reading Tolkien for the first time.

I tried that. But I could NOT get the key to open the door. How’d you do it?

  2. Laura says:

Maybe you skipped a step. I know at one point I had the key and it didn’t work, but I clicked until other stuff happened, and then the key worked eventually.

According to the Sun Times article linked above, you have to do this stuff in order:

“In the mirror, you’ll see a hallway. Click on the farthest doorknob and look for the Christmas tree. They click on the center of the door next to the mirror and a wreath appears. Then click on the top of the mirror and you’ll see a garland.

Look for a cobweb next to the door. Click on it, and it will disappear. Now, look at the chimes in the window. Click on the second chime to the right, and hold it down. The chime will turn into the key, which opens the door. Click on the wrapped gift behind the door, then click on it again and figure out the title yourself by playing a game of hangman.”

Me, I just clicked like a madwoman, trying everything I could, and as one thing would happen, things would change so I’d click again. Finally it worked. No strategy involved. :-)

I haven’t yet read the first one. I’m a bit uncultured, I’m afraid!

  4. Laura says:

I wouldn’t exactly call that uncultured, Cheryl. :-) But they are decently written, and the stories have gotten quite good. But if you have leisure time for reading, try checking the first two out of the library and see what you think.
