About Laura
Illegal Immigration, Xenophobia and Xenophily
I leave it to your imagination to play with this word and its implications the next time some loony leftist loose-bolt tries to label you a Xenophobe!

NYT ignores the obvious reason for infanticide
There is a law on the books in NY and many other states that allow a mother to abandon a baby at a safe location and then call someone to let them know that the baby is there and they won’t be charged with abandonment. But there are still women who k…
In Praise of the Open Trackback
Some may remember, though many have likely forgotten, the Great Open Trackback Wars of 2005/2006. (OK, nobody else called them that, but some of you might have noticed that I enjoy making mountains out of molehills when it suits my purpose.)
I rem…
(S)Wordplay in Portsmouth and the ACLU
Looks like it.
Patrick Agin is seventeen years old, attends high school in Portsmouth, Rhode Island and carries a sword on the weekends.
Well, maybe not all weekends.
Agin, who is a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism and a medieval histor…
Hillary Thinks Being Protected is a Shame
Senator Hillary Clinton, a woman who is running for the presidency, took a break from her busy campaigning schedule to visit with the troops in Iraq. She is there to tell us how bad things are in that objective, nonjudgmental way for which the Democ…
Asalamu aleykum: No we Americans are not Islamopho
Why is it when Americans voice their right of freedom of speech regarding the growing trend in America to appease Muslims and Islam, dissenting saying this is wrong, we are labeled Islamophobics? Muslims do not mind pointing out how the U.S. or the …
Never too old
We’ve all heard the quote ‘never too old’. But, most of us never think about what we will be doing at 100, since most of us won’t be here to worry about it.
In Nigeria, though, the quote came alive when a pastor of 107 took his third wife. That …
(MOGS) A Story about Guns
I filed this under Coffee, Beer, Grilling Such because it sees like the right thing to do, for now, unless Pidge decides to start a Guns category, in hopes that our favorite former USMC armorer, Denver Braa Yes That’s His
Iran Be Patient, Your Turn Is Next
They have talked about it in that past as a possible way to end their nuclear weapons program, but now the need is to cut off the money and personnel that continues to flow from Iran and be used in the slaughter of innocent civilians and our troops.
Michael Collins, My Irish Hero
We all have those who inspire us and motivate us to do more, work harder, and achieve more, for me one of my greatest heroes is Irish General and revolutionary leader Michael Collins, who was also affectionately known as “The Big Fellow”.
On-and-on-and-on it goes
It sure took him long enough. Mike Nifong has been the story for the past nine months. That is, he has been, together with the accuser who can’t keep her story straight.
Pop Quiz!!!!
Some will wave their hands and say “thats easy, we know it was the Democrats that made those statements”, others will say, “HEY, a few Republicans are against the surge also”…. so who said what?????
Inconsistent Football, consistently
This was typical Seahawks, and in fact NFC football. An inconsistent slugfest that was both fun and painful to watch.
Soldiers Belongings are Auctioned Off While he is
Army Reserve Specialist Patrick Rogalin had put his belongs away in a Public Storage unit before he deployed.
More exciting NFC sloppiness!
Robbie Gould’s kick was good, ending the Seahawk’s post-season run the same way that so many Seahawk victories during the regular season came… with a field goal to end the game.
The Saints will be playing the in Chicago next week. It’s their pl…

GOP presidential hopeful John Cox is a pro-family candidate who opposes gay marriage and civil unions and is pro-life, without exceptions. Like Dobson, he wants the McCain-Feingold legislation repealed.
Cox said he has heard statements like Dobson…

I just have one word: HA!
Also: Ha ha ha hahahaha1!!eleventy!!!!
If I'd known in time that Phelpsians (decidedly NOT Christians) were supposed to be anywhere in the vicinity, I'd have joined the counter-protest too. I don't need to approve of “The Laramie Project” being performed in a public high school in order to despise the Phelps' philosophy and behavior, and I can't condemn them heartily enough.
North Miami Beach's multicultural committee is thinking about limiting religious holiday proclamations to one per religion. My question is, why does any government need to issue a religious holiday proclamation at all? Shouldn't it be the duty of the religious organization to announce their own holidays?
And while I'm at it, why does any government need a "multicultural committee?"
Michelle Obama just says No to Twinkie warning labels, instead taking a more reasonable view that giving parents "information about what's in the Twinkie" is adequate.
We hate you. We really hate you.
Sincerely,
The Public
