I’m not at all interested in evaluating the science involved, but I am interested in seeing how the media reports on that science. They hype it almost beyond recognition, contradict themselves, and don’t acknowledge the mistakes and contradictions of previous coverage. In the last 112 years, we have toggled back and forth between media-driven global cooling and global warming scares four times - and we’re now entering the fifth cycle with a return to global cooling hype. When half of the world is so alarmed by global warming that they need taxes and government intervention to prevent it and the other half is so alarmed by global cooling that they need taxes and government intervention to prevent it. Once we reach that stage there will be conflict. Of course since we're dealing with governments and NGOs that want to get a slice of the government pie nobody will think of the obvious solution to the problem. If global warming is going to destroy the planet and global cooling is going to destroy the planet maybe its best to do nothing about either and let them cancel each other out. Or maybe an even better idea would be to admit that climate changes in a cyclical fashion and that it has nothing to do with mankind's influence. But that wouldn't be an excuse for more taxation or restrictions on economic development would it?
