Postmodernism and Objective Truths

One of the key indicators of a postmodern thinker is statements like these:

  • “That’s true for you, but not necessarily true for me. We can’t really know what the truth is.”
  • “It’s not up to me to judge someone else’s culture/attitude/opinion.”
  • “There’s no right and wrong.”

So let’s try this out with a few statements:

  • “President Bush has been persistently misrepresented by the media.”
  • “Evangelical Christians should not say that homosexuality is sinful.”
  • “I hate black people. Is that wrong?”

Hmmm…
