One of the most infuriating things about grammar school was when a classmate would stick his fingers in his hears and say, “La la la la la – I can’t hear you!” until the person he didn’t want to hear gave up and went away. Even as a child, I was filled with a desire to slap such people right in the face until they stopped acting like idiots. Unfortunately, some of those children apparently never stop behaving that way.
They grow up and go to college, ostensibly adults, but at work still say “La la la – I can’t hear you!” when presented with political views which differ from their own. They can’t just do their job and ignore it, serving all customers equally. No. The very sight of a tee shirt is so offensive they have to remove themselves from its presence. They can’t bear opposing views, and evidently aren’t mature enough or professional enough to ignore them at work, so they flee. By contrast, although as a Christian and a conservative I’m considered by these same people to be among the most intolerant, hateful people on the planet, I have clients of varying faiths, sexual practices, and politics. I am courteous, friendly, and I do my best for all of them.
After college, some of these “la la la” twits gain employment with the government – an organization that is historically quite friendly to idiots who need a paycheck but have bigger priorities than doing actual work. In this case, several of them got jobs at ICE. Rather than deal with the FBI which is apparently unpleasant for some reason, they let minor things like, say, national security, slide. Because there is nothing more important than not being bothered or upset, including doing their jobs.

I pray that this young man has since been released…what’s the deal? I agree wholeheartedly with Fancesca (to the right)….how did we ever become so complacent!!!!!!!!
