If it weren’t for the fact that this guy is running as a Christian, evangelical conservatives would be running in the other direction. He’s got nothing to recommend him as far as foreign policy, immigration, or taxes. I almost don’t want to go to church because if I see a Huckabee bumper sticker, I might just succumb to temptation and key the car.

American foreign policy needs to change its tone and attitude, open up, and reach out. The Bush administration’s arrogant bunker mentality has been counterproductive at home and abroad. My administration will recognize that the United States’ main fight today does not pit us against the world but pits the world against the terrorists…

Simple minded sophistry.
If you take the time to read this piece, you will be struck by how much it fails to resemble anything Ronald Reagan, George Bush #41, or any other notable Republican of recent vintage would have come up with. It is a mish mash of unrealistic notions of America’s place in the world along with a cloying appeal to a moralistic international order that doesn’t exist, never existed, and will probably never be realized.
Oh, and that Sun Tzu quote? Not so much. Turns out it’s Michael Corleone. But don’t feel too bad about it, Pastor Huckabee. I haven’t read The Art of War either.
In all seriousness, I’m sure Pastor Holiday Inn Express didn’t write that article himself. I wonder who did, and how long it’s been since that person has been a registered Democrat.

Like an aging monument, democracy itself is crumbling.
