I’ll Vote Hillary Before I Vote Huckabee

January 2, 2008 by Laura | Trackback URI

The ranks of bloggers who will vote Hillary before they vote Huck may be growing. I missed this Instapundit post last week -

He’s basically a big-government liberal on social issues, a Carteresque talk-talker on national security, and a nanny-stater in general. I’d be strongly tempted to vote for Hillary over Huckabee, as she’s not much worse on domestic issues, and would probably be more strongly checked by Congressional Republicans, and I think she’d be better on national security.

He’s not a Republican, and he said “strongly tempted” not “will” but I still think it’s worth noting that in terms of conservatism, there’s not a huge gap between Hillary and Huckabee. Although I think Hillary and Pastor Holiday Inn Express are running about neck and neck on foreign policy.  And from that same post, Tammy Bruce would vote Hillary before Huck too. Interesting.

Added – something else Huckabee has in common with Democrats… class warfare.  It’s a disgrace that Republicans are seriously considering this man.

Hope you’re not still mad at me, Laura, and I would certainly vote for Hillary before The Huckster. He’s a flim-flam man.

(Boy, a little heavy-handed with the moderation?)

Pax. :-) The moderation is a residual effect from That Unfortunate Series Of Posts in 2007. The threats finally stopped a few months ago so I turned off user registration and am just testing the water with open/moderated commenting.

    Heh. Pax, indeed.

Back on The Huckster, and gosh, he really is a huckster, I get the exact same feeling I got for eight years when I watched Bill Clinton talk. His lips move, and the first thought I have is “he’s lying”.

But what a pyrrhic battle if he wins the nomination — doesn’t matter who wins, we all die, figuratively speaking. Hillary’s a socialist, but I think she’ll defend the country. Probably better than her immoral husband did. Huck is just a fool, and a tax hiking, socialist Democrat. Obama is so far left he veers toward Marxism, along with some racism in his church of blackness, and pacifism and the willful ignorance of the threat of radical Islam.

Count me as a conservative who will either not cast a vote for the president or will vote for the Demoncrat nominee if anybody but Thompson gets the Repug bid. I will not vote for another RINO, and Giuliani, Romney, and McCain are all RINOs. It is time for true conservatism to reign in the Republican party, and none of those guys can accomplish that.

skh.pcola: minstrel, much? I don’t care how frustrated people are with the GOP, “Repug” is a standard Kos Kid/Huffpo/Firedog loon term. I get it, okay? You’re all very happy that so many Republicans are about to hand your “team” the Presidency. Knock yourselves out celebrating. But what you fail to understand is that with the candidates we have (excepting Fred! who is not without fault, but is the best of the bunch) we could win the Presidency and lose the principles that the party was founded on. And if we lose those, it’s no victory at all.

I want Obama to win, he will be hard to beat. But if Hillary does win, I vote for the republican Ticket. I never have voted for republicans before, but I will on this one. Hillary does not reach out to men very much. She believes the only thing she need are female voters. That won’t be enough. Republicans will come from the grave to vote against her and independents and a portion of Obama supporters will go republican. This will ensure a republican president. I don’t count Hillary out for the democratic nomination. It would be a disaster. But I do count her out for the presidency because of this.

Jeff, I’m curious… I know why I can’t stand Hillary. But why do so many Democrats feel the same way? I’m sure the reasons are very different.

republicans are a pitiful group of liars. talk about immoral….geez how many have been caught and ousted! what hypocrisy. Hillary will win the Democratic nomination and she will be elected President. I don’t think you realize how sick and tired women are of putting up with the macho, beat-on-my-chest, holier than thou BS that has spewn out of the your mouths for the past 8+ years.

Oh, please, Barbara… as if Dems are any better. How’s having anal sex with a teenaged male page for immoral? That was Gerry Studds, D-MA. He was very reluctantly censured for it, and then was re-elected six more times. As for the rest… you don’t speak for all women.
