I am not being sarcastic when I say this woman should receive an award for mother of the year. Her son stole his teacher’s phone, and rather than let him enjoy a three day vacation playing video games, she’s making him spend his school suspension standing on a street corner with a large sign that reads, “I am a thief.”
“He has to learn a lesson and understand that this type of behavior will not be allowed in my household. It will not be tolerated. He had no shame or no thought of embarrassing his parents, so why should I worry about embarrassing him?” the mother said.

I especially appreciate that fact that she’s sitting out there with him. I’m sure he doesn’t appreciate what she’s doing now, but with good parenting like this, odds are that he’ll smarten up. When he does, he’ll be very grateful.
If more parents would hold their children responsible for what they do wrong like this Mom, perhaps the children would grow up into a productive life and not a life of crime. He’ll appreciate his Mom one day, more than he knows right now.
