I Was Push Polled By Pastor Holiday Inn Express

I just got push polled by the Huckabee camp.  I stuck with the phone call until the infuriating end, hoping that there’d be some contact information.  It was Common Sense Issues, and they rattled off this number at the end – that I presume is a phone number although all I get is a fast busy: 7193620543  That may be incorrect because the volume dropped considerably and they said it so fast – and out of the speech pattern for a phone number – that it was nearly incomprehensible.

Why am I conflating Mike Huckabee with Common Sense Issues?  Because it absolutely defies common sense to say that he’s not in favor of these push polls.  His pathetic, weak repudiations of this organization show that he’s fully on board with what they’re doing on his behalf.  He absolutely could put a stop to this nonsense and he’s choosing not to.  How can he control this outside organization?  Easy.  If they’re doing it to support him, as they claim, then all he has to do is publicly defend Romney against the scurrilous charges CSI is making (again, on Huckabee’s behalf).  For example, if Huckabee put out a YouTube where he sits in front of the camera and specifically denies each charge they make against Romney, CSI would see that the more they do this, the more they harm their candidate.  That would be the honorable thing for Huckabee to do, and it would also give him a media boost because he’d come across as a good guy doing the right thing.  But that cynical disingenous SOB never will.  After his little Jesus/Satan “question” he exposed himself for exactly what he is – a typical politician who will do anything to gain power, including abuse the faith he supposedly holds so dear.

And let’s be clear about the Jesus/Satan/Mormon thing – I don’t give a crap if that is what Mormons or what Romney believe.  Today’s evangelicals would disqualify Thomas Jefferson on a faith basis.  Most of them have NO FREAKING IDEA what the Jefferson Bible is.  No, what enrages me about Huckabee’s “question” is that he damn well knew the answer before he asked it.  He takes us for fools.  And sadly, too many people ARE.

Huckabee is a disgrace.
