All of a sudden my 7mbps cable internet connection doesn’t seem so screamingly fast. How’s 1.2 gigabytes per second grab you?
The Japanese launched a satellite today that will provide access at that speed to small-dish subscribers. No word on the cost, but it’s probably prohibitive for home users – for now. In the meantime, the possibilities of how access at this speed could benefit various industries seem unlimited.
