China slams U.S. human rights record – China- msnbc.com
BEIJING – China lashed out Thursday at a U.S. report critical of its human rights record, accusing Washington of causing the modern world’s “biggest human rights tragedy” in Iraq and of hypocrisy for passing judgment on other nations.China’s State Council, or cabinet, said the U.S. record on human rights was “tattered and shocking” and criticized America for its violent crimes, large prison population and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The AP article is surprisingly even handed – it actually does take note of some of China’s human rights record instead of just reprinting a PRC press release on how much the United States sucks. They even posted the classic photograph I used in this demotivator I made last year:

I will never forget Tank Man’s courage. The footage was simply riveting. It was reported that he was later murdered by his government, but that may not be true.
I provided secure email for three years to a missionary in China, and gained an interesting inside look at the country. They are harassing Christians now just like they have for many years. The PSB can and will swoop down on you if you are a Christian at an unregistered church. There are forced labor camps which are part of the reason those products we buy at Wal-Mart are so inexpensive. The laogai (forced labor camps) are also used to harvest organs for medical tourists. China even found it necessary to micromanage even NOLA homeboy Harry Connick Jr. when he came to entertain them, and a less controversial, nicer guy and more solid musician cannot be found. But that’s life in a totalitarian state.
John Lennon said his song Imagine was “virtually the Communist Manifesto.” But this, not the pleasant sounding song, is the truth about Communism, along with Stalin’s twenty million witnesses to Communist brutality.
The State Department has inexplicably dropped China from the list of worst human rights violators. It’s time we put them back.

*yes, I call women dude. Because “dudette” looks like failed ammunition; besides, I know that I don’t have trouble with folks saying “hey, guys” when I’m around a man.
Thanks! Also, thanks for the link – I’ve just added your blog to my RSS reader so I don’t miss a post.
China is the enemy of our country. The main reason we’re willing to pretend otherwise is because we want to buy cheap goods from China to “boost” our economy further while endebting ourselves. America wants to spend more than we produce domestically — be it on universal health care, tax cuts, or whatever. Then we buy cheap goods from China and borrow money from China to even out the books at the end of the day.
Each time an American racks up credit card debt instead of investing his money, he contributes to our country’s negative savings rate. Private debt crowds out government borrowing, and vice-versa. When all the domestic creditors run out of money to lend, we turn overseas. Ultimately, the debtors of America should realize that their wasteful lives are enslaving us to China. A debtor is slave to the lender. This slavery is why we condone the many sins of the People’s Republic.
