Well, that makes it okay, then…

If you’re a Christian who prefers your young child not be taught about same sex relationships, you’re intolerant, hateful, and out of step with society. But for Muslims it’s a different story:
Two primary schools have withdrawn storybooks about same-sex relationships after objections from Muslim parents.
Nice.

So should or should not schools remove this material? The tone of your comment suggests the schools are pandering to Muslim opinion, out of the usual multi-cultural fear, and that this is wrong. In which case it is surely also wrong for Christians to be allowed foist their views on school boards. Religious views of ALL stripes should be kept out of education.
They *are* pandering to Muslim opinion, but yes, the material should be removed anyway. The irony that similar requests by Christians are routinely denied is what struck me. Religious AND socio-political views should not be catered to; parents who have religious objections should be able to opt out, and it is a disgrace that young kids are being subjected to this kind of indoctrination in any event. Schools can’t manage to adequately teach math, science, history and English. They need to focus on that and let parents, parent.
Laura’s point was that schools have a bias in favor of every culture *except* Christian culture. Or to say it more negatively, they have a bias against Christianity and traditional values.
