A Bipartisan Bid on Mortgage Aid Is Gaining Speed – New York Times
Casting aside partisan differences, Senate Democratic and Republican leaders said on Tuesday that they would work urgently on a package of legislation to help millions of homeowners at risk of foreclosure, with the hope of bringing a bill to the floor as early as Wednesday afternoon.

Depending on how this plan actually plays out, I’ve missed my chance to suck thousands from the government teat by living within my means, practicing delayed gratification and making personal sacrifices to continue to pay my mortgage on time. We could have pushed it and bought a bigger house but we decided to play it safe.
