What I’m Reading Instead of Working

Blogging will be light today as I’m up to my neck in work. But as the demotivator goes, hard work may pay off later, but procrastination pays off right now.

I didn’t like the 70s the first time, and I’m not going to enjoy them this time either. An appeasing, liberal, fiscally illiterate President (no matter which of the three we get), plenty of protests, rage, radicals, chaos carried over from the 60s, and now courthouse bombings.

But the UN means well…

Stop it. Just stop. You can’t have him until at least 2016.

Obama challenges us to “make change” and Mrs. Obama challenges satirists.

  You can pick your gender - heck, even your species - in Second Life, and more power to you. But not in real life. This is ridiculous. There is going to be a heavy price to pay for the lunacy of how these people are raising their child, and unfortunately, the child is going to pay it if David Reimer's experience is any guide. If the parents want a fantasy world where you can set every parameter as you like, I suggest they try virtual reality instead.

Like an aging monument, democracy itself is crumbling.

An ever increasing government threatens both freedom and a financial collapse.
- Judges are acting more like kings themselves than interpreters of the law.
- Redisticting, voter fraud, campaign finance controls, and an uninformed electorate threaten the integrity of elections.
- The values that made America the greatest country in the world are being supplanted.
- Government's attempts to make people's lives better often have the opposite effect.
What is causing this decay? What can we do?
