The Problem, In A Nutshell

Andrew Coyne is liveblogging the Steyn show trial. And here’s the problem in a nutshell:

Section 7.1 of the BC Human Rights Code is the relevant legal text, prohibiting exposure to hate.

Free speech, in his humble submission, is a “red herring.”

1. There’s a law prohibiting “exposure to hate.”
2. They think free speech is a red herring.

Good Lord. I can’t imagine having to deal with people useful idiots that far down the rabbit hole. Canada and the UK are in a race to see which country can commit suicide first.

Kathy Shaidle has a post chock full o’ links, including video of protesters with, get this, blank signs.  Niiiice!!

I’ve been following along. This should be quite a week of entertainment from the looks of it. The sad thing is people, useful idiots lol, have no clue how important this really is. The US often jumps on a bandwagon after Canada has blazed the way, banning free speech might not be such a leap for some folks here in the states. I mean if our neighbors do it it must be right….
