What Media Bias?

Earlier today I posted that people don’t trust the media. Here’s reason #10,824 why:
Infantry: Troops Angry At Media Bias and Laziness
July 21, 2008: American troops in Afghanistan are not happy with how a July 13th battle with the Taliban was reported. In that action, some 200 Taliban attacked a U.S. “base” and killed or wounded more than half the 50 or so U.S. and Afghan troops found there. Actual U.S. casualties were nine dead and fifteen wounded (including walking wounded).U.S. troops were irked that, once again, the mass media got lazy and didn’t bother to report the action accurately.
Read it all for yet another damning indictment. It’s not a matter of “if it bleeds it ledes,” or anything other than the media having a specific tale to tell and they will by-God NOT let the facts get in the way of that narrative.

This kind of stuff has been happening forever. Thanks to the milblogs, we now can find the truth if we look. What really terrifies me is the totally over-the-top shilling for Obama. He’s touring Baghdad like General McLellan would have toured Atlanta in 1864, but he’s getting all the adulation as if he’s the one who personally secured the place.
A press in love with a leader is a very dangerous thing.
