This is going to leave a mark:
ANTIWAR HYPOCRITES
Inhabitants of the left-wing blogosphere, have you no shame? Was your pacifism nothing more than a hipster pose? Bush is on the way out - are your principles leaving with him? Have you stopped to wonder if BHO might not be your LBJ?You told us that “War doesn’t change anything,” and “War is never the answer.” Shouldn’t you be lobbying your candidate to give peace a chance?
Shame, shame, shame. You’ve elevated hypocrisy to an art form.

Of course I must point out that while I oppose the war in Iraq, moving troops to Afghanistan is one of several things I’ve advocated all along. In fact, while a number of people were horrified when Obama said he would send troops into Pakistan to get Osama (or I hope to target al Qaeda) that removed some of my fears about him. I had been afraid he was one of those folks who think war never solves anything and would simply bring everybody home.
On the other hand, though I would regard myself as center-left, I’m pretty annoyed with many of the same folks referenced in your quote. There’s a substantial difference between “Iraq was the wrong way to use our resources at the time, we should use them ____ (other strategic goal here)” and “we shouldn’t send troops to Iraq because we shouldn’t send troops anywhere.”
In truth, it removed some of my concerns about him as well - although I can’t imagine voting for him because I thing he’s far, far off base on pretty much everything, at least he’s not stupid enough to think pacifism is a viable position. I do think invading Pakistan would be foolhardy at this point, though, and I’m worried that he doesn’t. While I’m pro-Iraq-war, obviously, I have always respected your position.
