So, a white guy can actually rap and other news of the day.

One of my clients was visited by his friend, Kid Rock. While in town, Kid (Mr. Rock?
) made a couple of TV commercials for my client’s business. So my client sent me the video to post on his website, and I asked him, who is this guy? He said, “Kid Rock.” Unenlightened, I said, so he’s a musician? My client said, yes, he’s a rapper. Perplexed, I replied, “But he’s white!” and wondered how such a thing could possibly be. My client (patiently, perhaps wondering where he could find himself a less racist web developer, but honestly, all I could think of was the sad, sad tale of Vanilla Ice) replied, “Because he’s very talented.”
First rule of holes - stop digging, so I said the TV spots were great and I’d have them up in half an hour. So while I was working on that, I made a Rhapsody playlist of Kid Rock’s songs, and sure enough, he IS very talented, and really can rap. But, man, is he profane. A little of that goes a long way for me now. Next thing you know I’ll be yelling at people to get off my lawn. Which I just mowed, and good grief, will I ever be happy when my husband is completely recovered from his injury/surgery to start doing that chore again. Not that it hasn’t been educational, but enough already!
So what else is going on? Jay Tea is verkempt and absolutely gobsmacked. As for me, I’m simply amazed Canada is doing the right thing here. I didn’t see that coming.
They told Glenn Reynolds that if George W. Bush were re-elected, films that made the President look bad would be quashed. And they were right! Here are some other things they were right about that Professor Reynolds apparently didn’t see coming. For a brilliant guy, college professor, lawyer and all that, he seems surprisingly clueless and naive. ;-P
John Murtha is still corrupt. And so is Heath Shuler. Lest the right get too smug, corruption may be the most bipartisan thing about Congress.
Something really unusual coming out of Hollywood… but are all the funny parts are in the trailer? We’ll see.
The Mustache slaps around pretty much everybody with regard to Georgia. Except Obama, because he’s busy bodysurfing. And McCain is digging ever deeper to find reasons for me not to vote for him.
I should be working on websites for carbide burs, condos in the Bahamas, homeschooling products, free legal assistance to the poor, and a church today. Not to mention an MS Access programming project I should get finished for a client. But instead I’m going to finish packing up a box for Sgt. Darren in Afghanistan. The Soldier’s Angel program is wonderful and I can’t recommend it enough. If you support the war, you really owe it to yourself and to the troops to take part. If you’re not in a position where you can adopt a soldier, there are other programs and levels of commitment - something for everyone. Go check it out!
