And the hits just keep on coming: McRudy

August 19, 2008 by Laura | Trackback URI

Wow, politicians lie.  (And yes, Obama is the quintessential politician.)  But it’s not like McCain is any better - he apparently isn’t going to miss a chance to smack conservatives around, and he’s not above lying to us to keep us in line between hits.

McRudy is McNauseating.  There is an extremely limited list of things I like about McCain.  For example, I think he’ll take the war seriously and wage it effectively so we can be victorious.  He’s a law-and-order, anti-pork guy.  So that’s good.  But Rudy pretty much repeats all that, with an added dash dousing of social liberalism.  I think Rudy’s a stand-up guy and I maybe could have voted for him if he balanced his ticket with a conservative.  He’s less pro-abortion than Obama, at least.  He prosecuted the mafia murderers of the husband of a friend of mine in the 1970s.  My friend spoke highly of Guiliani - he spent a lot of time and care on seeking justice for her husband.  (Can’t remember the title of the book, but there was one - a lot of people were murdered by the mob that summer and there was an excellent nonfiction account of it all.)  But no matter how inclined I am to like Rudy personally, him on a ticket with McCain is adding insult to injury.
