Yes, good, but Maverick still can’t be my wingman…

Slublog has a nice writeup on Mav’s Veepstakes winner in The Maverick Gets One Right. It’s going to hurt a lot less now. Go read it, I’ll wait… I’ve got nothing better to do, until I can figure out whether or not we have to evacuate to escape the insane Scandi. (Why isn’t Ace all over that angle?!) I really picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.
Good, you’re back. So, Maverick can’t be my wingman, but his wingman could. Anytime. I thought I was going to have to settle for voting downticket, but I can push the button on a ticket with Palin on it. Probably chanting, “Yes I can!” but it’s okay, they already think I’m a lunatic at my polling station. Something about the way I danced out of the booth after voting Jindal for Governor.
So as Slublog said,
So because McCain did something I never thought he’d do, I’m going to return the favor and do something I never thought I’d do - donate to his campaign. If you’d like to join me, here’s the link.
Although my reasons certainly differ and furthermore, I don’t think it was a nod to the conservatives as much as a nod to reality. He’d have loved to shaft us (again) but he doesn’t think he can afford to do so.
I’m not donating any money to anyone until I know what Gustav and Hanna are doing and if I’ll still have a house and a business in two weeks, but later I will donate to the campaign - for Palin’s benefit. I’d love to see her get sixteen years of White House duty. And it will be hard-fought and honestly earned, unlike Hillary’s piggybacking on her husband’s career and name recognition.

I think McCain is repenting of his past ways. When you devote your life toward reconciliation with the enemy, only to get betrayed by all the people you thought were befriending you (Democrats, the New York Times, the television media), you start to question things.
1. He has (supposedly) abandoned his old stance on immigration due to its unpopularity.
2. He has become more drill-friendly thanks to rising gas prices.
3. He has made strong promises to nominate good judges and has picked Sarah Palin as his first appointment.
4. Global Warming will probably be discredited before long.
5. Embryonic stem cells have already been fairly discredited.
I am hopeful for change.
And I donated already. The server for McCain’s donation website is actually down, though, so you have to do it by phone. I don’t know if the website stopped working due to volume of donations or for some other reason.
I will be using the video in the previous post later on my blog. Good primer is right!
I like Palin. She moves McCain right, which is what he needed. Maybe he’s learning.
Gustav churns. Be safe okay? BE SAFE!
I’m in Gretna now and leaving at 5 am, just finished picking up everything. I hope you and yours get out and stay safe.
About the Jeff. Frostop, maybe I can try it another day but I remember trying the Roy Rogers roast beef over there a few years back, it was not even close to as good as I remember.
To tell the truth, I still jazzed up about Palin and the Huricane is/or would be on the back burner if I didn’t have to deal with it.
I’ve prepared for the worst and am hoping for the best. I’ll comment after all is over.
Good luck
P.S. Thanks for the Gorbo comment. I don’t blog anymore, just jump around and read others. I’m really starting to like your blog. Your views are very close to mine and you have an easy reading writing style with some humor to boot. Plus you love our Lord!
