So – why’d the Winners (who should really look into getting a legal name change after this Epic Fail) yank all the damning evidence down and cancel accounts? At The Jawa Report, Ethan Winner admits making the ad, claims he wasn’t paid to do so, that neither Obama nor any PACs were involved, and wraps it up with this cri de coeur:

Do I condone threats? Not in the least. But can we believe someone willing to go to all this trouble to spread lies about Sarah Palin – and the subject of the video had been thoroughly debunked a full week before the video was released – would lie about receiving threats, or exaggerate negative responses into threats? Yes, we can!
Oh, and the “personal” information posted by The Jawa Report was entirely public. I’m guessing some people may have looked up the company’s website and called to complain about the astroturfing and lies. It’s possible some were rabid enough to go further than that – like see if they had a Yahoo account that could be hacked and explored for damning evidence, maybe? – but I doubt it.
Not only is Ethan Winner a liar, he is a poor liar. The Jawa Report story went what midnight. Winner’s video came down an hour later. Between Twelve and One I was sound asleep as I am sure Winner was well.
Yeah, the video got taken down an hour later, and within 4 hours or so the whole account was gone. Shackleford didn’t give out anybody’s phone number, and I kind of doubt the Winner family was awoken in the middle of the night by rude e-mails.
What lies is everyone freaking out about? ABC and NY Times ran a story that Palin was a member… we all know her husband was a member. Anyways, don’t we remember a little thing called “freedom of speech.?” If its not true, why wouldn’t everyone just say oh, thats not true and go on about their day. Liar, is a term for someone who finds false information and goes to war, a Liar is someone who gets people to sabotage votes to steal an election, a liar who is someone who pardons criminals who happen to be their friends.. come on people wake up before you need to move to china to send money back to your family

We all have free speech; even those of us who think the way Winner and Axelrod are sneakily trying to manipulate this election is deplorable. If these three voices are the same, Axelrod is behind it. You will hear an official ad, the hit piece, and a certain voice over actress in Chicago. Are they the same?
They got what they wanted – a lying smear that went viral and got reported in the mainstream media. The NY TIMES had to correct the info, but the damage was already done. This is how they do it in Chicago.
