Back in the day…

Back in the day, I spent a fair amount of my paycheck on music. The one I was least fond of was opera, and (of course!) my daughter now performs in several operas a year so I’m finally learning to like that.
But in the mid to late 80s, I alternated between classic 70s rock, metal, and hip hop, which was nothing at all like rap today, which tends to be fairly vile: misogynistic and violent. I loved the Sugar Hill Gang, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Run DMC, and Heavy D. It was just fun. So I really enjoyed this blast from the past, via Cobb, who has a lot more to say on the genre.
