Compare and Contrast

palestinianchildabuse071119J.G. Thayer compares and contrasts Israel and the Palestinians:

Israelis make shelters for children.

Palestinian terrorists make shelters of children.

Because if we the storytellers don’t do this, then the bad people will win. (source)

It drives me crazy when this neutrality thing comes up. Objectivity, that great journalistic buzz-word, means giving all sides a fair hearing — not treating all sides the same —particularly when all sides are not the same. When you’re neutral in a situation like Bosnia, you are an accomplice – an accomplice to genocide.” (source)

Judging from their output, I believe that most journalists agree with her.  It’s perplexing how they can hold these views when a straight reporting of the facts – sans “storytelling” – contradict them.  I don’t expect journalists to treat Israel like the “good guy.”  I’d just like them to stick to the facts and let us form our own opinions.

Another “compare and contrast” moment – half the country is up in arms about a couple of racist, anti-semite idiots who named their son “Adolph Hitler.”  Why aren’t they up in arms about Palestinians dressing their infants up in faux suicide bombs, and letting them watch children’s television that teaches them to kill Jews?
