When I saw this post at Gateway Pundit about the fact that 61 of those poor, innocent victims of imperialist neocons left Gitmo and continued to conduct terror attacks, I was reminded of why we originally created The Gitmo Cookbook. Primarily to annoy and mock people who believe that Gitmo is the most eeevil thing Amerikkka has ever done in our long history of eeeeevil, and to try to raise a few bucks for the USO.
It really is the same food served to Gitmo detainees. I called Cuba and spoke to a very helpful guy who emailed the menus to me. We got the recipes from the Navy recipe database and scaled them down for home use. More on the cookbook here. I still have three boxes – a delay because of Hurricane Katrina caused us to lose many of our original orders, hence the oversupply – so if you want to eat like a detainee, now’s your chance!
