How about “born-again Christian.” As opposed to what? A non-born-again Christian?
Indeed.

If I'd known in time that Phelpsians (decidedly NOT Christians) were supposed to be anywhere in the vicinity, I'd have joined the counter-protest too. I don't need to approve of “The Laramie Project” being performed in a public high school in order to despise the Phelps' philosophy and behavior, and I can't condemn them heartily enough.
North Miami Beach's multicultural committee is thinking about limiting religious holiday proclamations to one per religion. My question is, why does any government need to issue a religious holiday proclamation at all? Shouldn't it be the duty of the religious organization to announce their own holidays?
And while I'm at it, why does any government need a "multicultural committee?"
Michelle Obama just says No to Twinkie warning labels, instead taking a more reasonable view that giving parents "information about what's in the Twinkie" is adequate.
We hate you. We really hate you.
Sincerely,
The Public

Redundant labels irk me also. Similarly, I think the people on Facebook are silly who describe their Religious Views as “Jesus forgave me” or whatever, as opposed to simply calling themselves “Christian.” Obviously, the people with the creative labels are more likely to have legitimate faith, but they still look silly to me.
Of course, such creative labels may be silly, but there is reason for them. The currency of traditional terms has been debased. That is, people have tolerated too long the idiocy of their fellow “believers” who don’t accept even basic Christian doctrines. For example, many phony-Christians reject salvation by faith (“born-again”) or don’t believe in the Bible (“biblical Christian faith”). The term “Christian” has therefore lost its meaning. For that reason, legitimately saved souls come up with terms like “born-again Christian” or “Bible-believing Christian.”
The answer, however, isn’t to invent new, redundant labels while surrendering traditional labels. Rather, we have to stop the debasement of our identity. We have to start rejecting the phony Christians. Don’t even pretend that the phony Christians are part of your church. Treat the phony Christians the way you would treat a Mormon, a Jehovah’s Witness, or a Gnostic.
I believe that “Bible believing” Christian came about because of the slamming that “Sola Scriptura” has taken– All Christians (that is, followers of Christ, the Anointed One, the Son of God) believe the Bible– just some think that there is only Bible, and no Church.
