Myth Debunked

homepagemediabiasIn spite of what the media and bloggers on the left (quite a lot of overlap in work product there) claim, conservative bloggers do plenty of original reporting, thanksIt’s a bit ridiculous to claim otherwise, particularly given the number of times last year when the media lifted stories from conservative bloggers without attribution, and added their own special spin in an attempt to wrestle the story back into the desired narrative.

The media can’t control the narrative anymore.  Even if the government bails out the failing legacy media, even if Obama and Congress implement the Fairness Doctrine again, even if they finagle it so the FCC has some authority to regulate the internet, even if they establish free speech squelchers like the tribunals in Canada that persecute Ezra Levant, Mark Steyn, Kathy Shaidle and many others… it’s a new information age and there are just too many ways to get around them.

Watchman Nee, the great Chinese church leader who spent the last twenty years of his life in prison for his beliefs, once preached a sermon in the presence of Communist officials who were waiting for an excuse to arrest him.  He threw a glass on the floor, and then angrily stomped all over the pieces of glass.  The more he stomped, the larger pieces broke into smaller ones and scattered over a wider area on the floor.  Since he didn’t speak a word, they couldn’t charge him with anything, but his congregation – and his Communist oppressors – got the message.  While this was an example of how oppression spreads the gospel, the same is true for information.  Attempts to suppress it are only going to expose the left for what they are, and legacy media alternatives will grow.

Maybe it’s one of those “if I keep saying it, they’ll believe it” things?
