How disconnected am I from pop culture? Last night I watched part of the Tonight Show for the first time in years. First guest – Michael Douglas. At one point, he complained that his six year old daughter, who attends dance class, was provocatively swinging her hips and really shaking it. His gripe – he didn’t figure this would happen for at least another ten years. Here’s a clue for you, Michael – don’t send her to a dance class that will teach her to do that. And by the way, there’s no good reason a sixteen year old needs to do that, either.
The next guest was some strange chick who passed around nude photos of herself. She complained that she’d been previously scheduled for the show, but had been bumped by Barack Obama, that attention whore! She noted that his appearance on the show was more or less pointless – after all, He Won! She’s evidently famous enough to have a magazine spread, a book published, and an appearance on the Tonight show, but I don’t even know who that woman was. And I don’t feel deprived.
It’s just amazing how much of this stuff I used to take in, and take for granted.

I totally agree with you about the culture shock that is on secular TV. Every now and then I pause on a program while surfing and absolutly cannot beileve what is coming across the airways today. These are things that I, too, used to take for granted and never thought about watching before I was Born Again. I, also love your Quote of the day on April 27th. I am an old white lady and I totally agree with you about the quote from (can’t remember her name:) I heard on some Christian Radio show that she was supposed to be an intelectual…….huhhhhhh??? Anyway, love your blog and stay true to Jesus.
