(From Drew)
Michele McGinty discusses a preacher with a rather interesting sermon topic. The morality of these imprecatory prayers is debatable (just look at some of David’s Spirit-inspired prayers in the Psalms), but it definitely drags down our cause when preachers voice these ideas publicly. Come on, guys, stay sensible!

Rather they should pray for barry hussein’s conviction, moral AND legal. The man and his cohorts should be made to pay for the wrong he’s inflicted on this country and a public display of a broken heart/spirit could in fact lift the morale of true patriots. I know this is a Christian site, but there’s an entirely appropriate episode of Southpark that would apply to this: Cartmanland….
here is the link for that episode: http://www.southparkstudios.com/episodes/103935/?autoplay=false
There’s an interesting little thing about Job on that episode.
I’ll watch it when I get a chance. South Park is a guilty pleasure of mine – I’m frequently heartily offended, but about as often really amused. I really enjoy the fact that they have NO sacred cows and are equal opportunity offenders.
Did you see the smug episode?
Yes! I do recall seeing the smug episode, but it was the tail end. I got the point that Stan’s dad was being all smug about driving an eco car. I’ll have to go to the episode site and check it out again. Thanks for the tip!
