Well, stop ticking us off then, Lindsey.

homepageliberalrageGateway Pundit has some video of Lindsey Graham announcing he doesn’t want the GOP to be the party of angry white guys. Well, that doesn’t sound like a very fun party to me, either. But if Lindsey doesn’t want people to be angry, he could try not making us mad. There’s a remarkable disconnect in his mind between massive government growth and waste; increasing government encroachment into our daily lives; increasing federal encroachment into state issues; Congress’ failure to write comprehensible bills or even read the bills they are passing, and voter anger.

Rather than take a hard look at himself and at Congress, it’s easier to just write us all off as a bunch of “teabagging” lunatics.    Dumb move.

    You believe Glenn Beck?

He’s ticked because Lindsey called him down on a few things. Beck needs a time out. He is doing serious damage to the GOP. The man does nothing but denigrate anyone Republican.

Lindsey was basically accosted by a group of Ron Paul Bots and and Constitution Party at a Townhall meeting in Greenville. One of the people who went after him is a Ron Paul Bot who is basically stalking him to make trouble. A woman accosted him about how bad he was, etc, how she would never vote for him, etc. Come to find out she was a supporter of Chuck Baldwin.

I’ve been following all of this at The Pink Flamingo. The whole mess is getting old and very annoying. Funny how it is really bad for liberals to go after conservative and tell things that might not be true and bully them, but it is fine and dandy for conservatives to target Republicans and do the same thing.

Doesn’t the far right ever get tired of hating good, decent people just because they don’t lock-step to their demands?

Do I ever get tired of hating good, decent people? I’ll let you know if I ever start hating good decent people. That’s never happened before, so don’t hold your breath. I don’t hate Grahamnesty any more than he hates me. I heartily disagree with him. There’s a vast difference. Don’t you “moderates” ever tire of shrieking at conservatives that we have to compromise our principles and obey you for the sake of the common good? Why do you think our principles are less dearly held than your own? Why should we have have to lockstep to YOUR demands?

You bring up Glenn Beck, who was not mentioned in this post. Not only do I not watch Glenn Beck, I don’t even have cable TV. I see clips of him sometimes on the internet. So, no, I’m not really aware of what Beck has said about Grahamnesty. But I’m fully aware of some pretty major news stories about Obama that Glenn Beck has pushed to the forefront, so I’m inclined to give him some leeway in spite of the occasional hysterical outburst I see on Youtube.

Graham’s stated willingness to nationalize banks and his 2006 remark to La Raza, a thoroughly racist organization, that “we’re going to tell the bigots to shut up” and pass shamnesty are MORE than enough reason for me to be ticked off at him, and if I cared to take the time to go back over his entirely-too-lengthy career, I could list a lot more. He’s got no qualms about slamming and insulting conservatives, so I can’t imagine why you think we should refrain from returning fire.

Incidentally, I was wrong when I commented the other day that I read your blog and like it. I had not read it. I have Pierre Legrand’s Pink Flamingo Bar blog in my RSS reader, that’s what I was thinking of.

  3. My male progenitor (don’t ask) told me a story about when one of his best friends got married.

Well, the dude got drunk the night before, and was still drunk at the wedding. Preacher says “Do you take her for better or for worse” and the dude says “I’ll take her for worse until something better comes along.”

I’ll take Graham-nasty for worse until something better comes along.
