Congressmen John Carter R-TX and Lynn Westmoreland R-GA yesterday introduced the Geithner Penalty Waiver Act, requiring that the IRS assess the same penalty against U.S. taxpayers that came forward in the UBS tax fraud investigation as paid by Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner for failing to pay taxes on his IMF income — zero.
I left the GOP because of their corrupt porkish ways, shamnesty, and utter spinelessness. They seem to have gotten the message on fiscal responsibility, they may have gotten the message on shamnesty, and even though this is essentially a publicity stunt, it’s a darn good one. More, please. We absolutely cannot tolerate a two-tiered enforcement system and still remain America.
