I have two words for you: In. Sane.

I read this and couldn’t decide whether to scream, cry, or break something. Luckily I have a blog so I can let steam out this way. Can an entire nation insane go collectively insane? (Hmm… query “Germany, Holocaust” -  or is that a Godwin offense?) I don’t know if there’s a listing for this in the DSM IV, but the UK has gone crazy. A woman observed some punks in her back yard, evidently intending to break into her shed. She never left her home, but she yelled, brandished a kitchen knife in front of the window, and called the cops. Who promptly clarified for her who the real criminals are.

When they arrived at her house they informed her that she should not have used a knife to scare off the youths because carrying an “offensive weapon” – even in her own home – was illegal.

Even in her own home. Remember, after the UK had sufficiently banned guns, they went after knives, and even big sticks.  At this point, if a criminal goes after you, the law demands that you submit quietly.  After all, you wouldn’t want to break some noise ordinance, would you?

Ha! Good catch. I love that movie, but I don’t have cable, so I didn’t know it’s been on a lot lately :-)

Email me (laura@pursuingholiness.com) what address to send the cookbook to – can be General Delivery along with a city, state and zip if you prefer not to give a specific address. Then you just have to go to the counter and request the package.

Any time any conservative even obliquely implies something that MIGHT relate to Nazis and it’s not aimed at their own side, it’s a Godwin offense.
